Yellow Bear Journeys, Inc. Tour Conditions Agreement
This document outlines what Yellow Bear Journeys, Inc. agrees to provide when you sign up for a journey, and what You agree to do in return. When you sign up for a journey, if it involves travel, you will need to sign that you have read and understood these conditions and any other conditions spelled out on the website for your specific journey. Some of these agreements may seem a little severe, but they are in line with agreements of other tour companies and are really not as severe as they may at first seem.
Journey, Celebration, Awakening:
Journey: We provide lodging, some meals, travel arrangements (from departure point), speakers, instructors, workshop location, entrance fees, free time, and fun time as detailed in each journey.
Celebration: We will take time during each travel journey to celebrate what we have experienced.
Awakening: We design the journeys to help you awaken you to what lies in store for you next in life. There is a separate time set aside to explore this during most travel journeys. We encourage you to participate in your awakening as fully as possible and we will do what we can to help you get the most out of that experience.
Price and Payments:
Journey Price Guaranteed: When you make your deposit or full payment on a Yellow Bear Journey your price is locked-in and guaranteed for that specific journey. The early bird gets the worm. The sooner you sign up, the lower the price will be. The prices for each journey and what that price covers for that journey is listed on our website – just click on the desired journey. As we design each tour, the details and price will be posted on the website. If you see that we are offering a journey, but there are no details yet, let us know that you are interested and we’ll make designing that journey a priority! Sponsorships for each Journey are also available. Please note: Transportation and other costs required to get you to the starting point of the tour are not included in the cost of the tour.
Journey payments: To make a reservation for a Journey which includes travel, you must agree to these Journey Conditions and provide us with a deposit as noted in the detail price of the Journeys. Please make a note on your calendar of your final payment due date, as it is your responsibility to ensure that we receive your final payment on time. If a journey is getting full and you have only paid the deposit, we will contact you to see if you still plan to go on the journey.
NSF Check Fees: If a payment is returned because of non-sufficient funds (NSF), Yellow Bear Journeys, Inc. will assess a $25 fee per occurrence. The fee(s) will be added to the applicable journey balance and are required to be paid in full if you still wish to go on the Journey.
Cancellations and refunds: Please read the Cancellation Notice for cancellation details. Deposits are not eligible for refund after the cancellation period (see notice), two weeks after signing up. The remainder of the purchase price is required two months before the journey start date. If you sign up within two months of the journey start date, the full purchase price is required to be paid when you sign up. If you cancel two months or more before the journey start date, a full refund will be made. If you cancel after that, let us know your emergency for cancelling and $80 per day that you miss of the journey will be refunded.
Journeys cancelled by Yellow Bear Journeys, Inc.: Your journey may be cancelled because of unforeseen circumstances. If the minimum number of people required for a journey do not sign up by the deadline for that journey, it may be cancelled. If a journey is cancelled by Yellow Bear Journeys, Inc., you will receive a full refund within 14 days after the journey has been cancelled. Yellow Bear Journeys, Inc. has no obligation to refund moneys not paid to Yellow Bear Journeys, Inc., such as airline tickets to the departure point.
Change in Plans – Journey Transfers: Transfers between Journeys are not possible if there is a significant price difference between the Journeys. Please contact us if you wish to transfer to another journey. Up to two months before your journey’s start date, you can transfer to a later journey, as long as there are openings on that journey. You will need to pay any difference in Journey price. If the new Journey you choose costs less, you will be refunded the difference. Within two months of your journey’s start date, transfers may not be possible. We will do what we can to make the transfer possible, but cannot guarantee that it will be possible.
Travel Insurance: Yellow Bear Journeys, Inc. strongly encourages all travel journey participants to purchase separate travel insurance to cover possible additional costs (airline tickets, loss of luggage, trip delay, medical evacuation, etc.). Carbon Offsets:
Yellow Bear Journeys, Inc. welcomes your participation in carbon offsets programs. If you want to purchase Carbon offsets, visit Search Perch – Carbon Offsets for a list of companies offering carbon offsets. If you need help figuring carbon offsets for a particular trip, we will give you what information we can to help you figure that out.
What to Bring, What to Leave Behind:
Bring a sense of adventure. The weather is unpredicatable. The environment is unpredicatable. Many of the travel journeys include arrangements with many vendors and others, any of whom may cancel beyond the control of Yellow Bear Journeys, Inc. We all need to be flexible enough to take advantage of each and every situation so that we all have the best time possible. Yellow Bear Journeys will do what we can to make your journey refreshing, reviving, and renewing. Uncompleted portions of the journey itinerary are not cause for refund.
Pack lightly and come prepared and ready to enjoy the trip. Your bags will get heavy quickly if you have to carry them long distances or up stairs. At the same time, you’ll want bring enough so that you’re prepared. Click here for more information on what to bring. Come ready to enjoy your journey – we will all benefit from your enthusiasm!
Most Yellow Bear Journeys, Inc. are designed for most fitness levels: Most of the travel journeys include a walk on multiple beaches, and/or walks through rainforests. The longer walks are optional. If you decide not to finish a walk, we will join you again on our way back. Most of the journeys include long rides on buses or vans, many of which do not have toilets. If you need a restroom, let us know in plenty of time.
We do have some more active travel journeys. Please read each journey thoroughly to determine if you will be in shape for it. We encourage you to take some time every day to exercise and to stretch.
Have a safe and healthy journey. We provide guidelines so that all may enjoy a safe and healthy journey. Refrain from actions which are unsafe to you, others, or the environment. Fragrance is not allowed on any Yellow Bear Journey Fragrances can be health hazards and are usually not good for the environment. Therefore, we ask you to not use fragrances on the journey. Avoiding exposures to fragrances before the journey will be appreciated. Smoking is generally not allowed. If you’re outside, downwind, at least 25 feet away from the rest of the group, just can’t live without smoking a cigarette, and promise to extinguish your cigarette safely, we may make an exception and let you smoke. Health includes mental health, so bring a good attitude and help the mental health of the group. In circumstances, where you interfere with the group having a safe and healthy journey, we have the exclusive right and discretion, to expel you, from a tour at any time, without any claims or complaints by you against us.
Forms, ID, etc. for travel journeys:
ID: Bring a photo ID. Bring a passport if we’re crossing into a foreign country. You wouldn’t want to be left behind.
Disabilities: Any pre-existing physical, mental, or emotional disability that may require attention or treatment must be reported in writing prior to the start of a journey. You are required to complete, sign, and return, prior to your journey start date, a Medical Release and Waiver Agreement. Failure to return this Agreement invalidates the cancellation policy, and could result in your expulsion from the journey at your own expense.
Contract: Bring a copy of your agreement/contract with Yellow Bear Journeys, Inc.
Itinerary: Bring a copy of the itinerary, if you want.
Parental Consent Form: Each child must bring their signed parental consent form.
